Job description
We are looking for a Membership Coordinator or Manager who can support the membership and events department to recruit new members, build relationships with existing members and can lead the sales of sponsorship and advertising from foreign companies in Shanghai Chapter.
The Membership Coordinator or Manager will be responsible for meeting membership, events and advertising revenue targets.
Work with and support the Events team and the Government Affairs (GA) team to ensure new and existing members are serviced;
Create and deliver a membership recruitment strategy to meet Shanghai Chapter revenue targets;
Key Responsibilities:
Membership
* Work with and support the Events team and the Government Affairs (GA) team to ensure new and existing members are serviced;
* Create and deliver a membership recruitment strategy to meet Shanghai Chapter revenue targets;
* Build and develop strong relationships with potential and existing members and partners;
* Develop membership reports;
* Collection of subscription fees from new members’ applications and managing the administration aspects related to membership, including creating payment notices, issuing receipts and preparing membership agreements and certificates’
* Lead and attend meetings with potential and existing members;
* Organize member reception events for members to get to know other members, board members, working group chairs and staff;
* Participate in events from the European Chamber and other external events representing the European Chamber;
Sponsorship and Advertising
* Create a strategy to develop advertising and sponsorship opportunities;
* Create and keep updated a potential advertiser and sponsor database;
* Manage relationships with potential partners;
* Take care of the experience sponsors have at the Chamber events, including support with their involvement, welcome of sponsors, feedback and overall involvement in events;
* Other duties as required by the line manager.
This position includes a base salary, a membership commission, sponsorship and advertising sales commission, and an annual bonus which is linked to the performance of the employee and the targets delivered.
Skills & experience
University degree in a politics, marketing or business-related subject;
At least 1 year of related experience in a sales, customer relations or business development role;
Passion for sales and delivering targets;
Customer-focused and results driven;
Good organisational skills;
Strong analytical and communication skills;
Flexible and proactive, with a team-player attitude.
