About the company
The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China was founded in 2000 by 51 member companies that shared a goal of establishing a common voice for the various business sectors of the European Union and European businesses operating in China. It is a members-driven, non-profit, fee-based organisation with a core structure of 25 Working Groups and 7 Fora representing European business in China.
The European Chamber now has more than 1,700 members in 7 chapters operating in 9 cities: Beijing, Nanjing, Shanghai, Shenyang, South China (Guangzhou and Shenzhen), Southwest China (Chengdu, Chongqing) and Tianjin.
The Chamber is recognised by the European Commission and the Chinese Authorities as the official voice of European business in China. It is recognised as a Foreign Chamber of Commerce with the Ministry of Commerce and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade.

Job description
Description:
The intern will assist the Government Affairs Department. The internship presents an opportunity to gain valuable experience within the areas that the Chamber is involved in, including lobbying, events and organizing Working Group meetings with European industries.
Main Responsibility:
-Monitoring the industrial and trade developments in China and EU;
-Responding to inquiries on Chinese laws, regulations, and policies;
-Supporting line manager to organize the activities between the European industry and the Chinese authorities;
-Support line manager with the coordination and organization of Working Group meetings;
-To make the Chamber experience of our interns will be requested - whenever possible - to take up specific project to develop through their internship;
-Administrative support.
Skills & experience
-Fluent in spoken and written Mandarin Chinese;
-Excellent command of spoken and written English;
-Background in law, business, economics, political science, international relations, languages or other relevant areas are preferred’
-Basic understanding of the Chinese government structure and legislation process;
-Industry knowledge, strong personal interest and/or previous experience in advocacy is an advantage ;
-Excellent interpersonal skills (strong sense of responsibility, attention to details, proactivity; excellent communicator);
-Computer literacy (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
