China's New Trademark Law: Government meeting with Guangdong Provincial Administration for Industry & Commerce

On April 22nd in Guangzhou members of Intellectual Property Rights Working Group met with Trademark Management Division of the Guangdong Provincial Administration for Industry and Commerce. This meeting was an opportunity to communicate about the main updates in the new Trademark Law which was implemented just a few days later on May 1st, 2014. At the same time member companies addressed specific questions related to penalties for infringement, repeat infringer and publishing administrative decisions by AIC. At the conclusion of the meeting Chris Bailey, IPR WG Chair presented the Position Paper 2013/2014 to Lichao Wu, Director of Trademark Management Division of Guangdong Provincial Administration for Industry & Commerce.
