Dialogue with the Secretary General of the Remanufacture Committee of China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CPRA)

2020-09-07 | Beijing, Shanghai

The European Chamber invited its automotive and auto components group members to join the working group meeting with Government on the Interim Measures on Remanufacturing Management of Auto-Parts at 2:00pm-4:30pm, 7th September at European Chamber Beijing and Shanghai Office.

We invited Mr. Jianjun Xie, Secretary General of the Remanufacture Committee of China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CPRA) to discuss the concern from our members on the upcoming remanufacturing interim measures of auto-parts and how to promote the development of the domestic scrapped auto-parts recycling market in our Beijing office, following the advocacy work of the auto components working group for continuously 3 years.

Auto Components Working Group has advocated for ‘Promote the Development of the Remanufacturing Industry and Strengthen Relevant Policy Enforcement’ within the 2019/2020/2021 Position Paper. We keep in contact with relevant association/ministry including China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CPRA) to follow up the advocacy work we carried on for 3 years. On August 11nd, National Development and Reform Commission(NDRC) called for comments on Interim Measures on Remanufacturing Management of Auto-Parts (Draft for Comments). We are pleased to find that some suggestions submitted by our working group last year are accepted by NDRC, such as the term ‘Remanufactured products should obtain the permission of the original company’s trademark right holder and retain the original company’s trademark’ is deleted.
