On 15th September Deputy Director General of Hainan Provincial Bureau of International Economic Development, Gong Qijun, met with European Chamber members at Deloitte’s office in Shenzhen to discuss Hainan’s preferential policies towards businesses in Hainan province. His presentation emphasised Hainan’s chief focuses, mainly tourism, modern services, and high tech while also giving attention to Hainan’s impressive infrastructure developments and pioneering tax policies. Dr. Eric Lin from Deloitte followed the Deputy Director General by giving deeper insights into the finer details of Hainan’s tax system. The event concluded with European Chamber South China Board Chair, George Lau, presenting Deputy Director General Gong with a copy of the European Chamber’s 2020 Business Confidence Survey and a freshly published 2020/2021 European Chamber Position Paper.
