European Chamber Shanghai Chapter Zhejiang Government Dialogue on Fintech

On 25th November, a business delegation led by Mr. Carlo D'Andrea, Vice President and Shanghai Board Chair of the European Chamber, visited Hangzhou, Zhejiang provice and met with the local authorities, financial institution and think-tank to discuss the latest developments of Finteh in the region. The delegation consists of 22 members from banking and non-banking financial institutions, as well as think-tank.

During the one-day trip, the delegates had a dialogue with the Zhejiang Financial Regulatory Bureau on the Zhejiang's Fintech development plan, the regulatory development on Fintech, and the policy to attract financial talent to the region. The delegation also visited Ant Financial and discussed its business model, its business plans in Europe and developing countries and potential cooperation with European firms. At the end of the tour, the delegates visited Zhejiang Lab, a think-tank jointly established by the Zhejiang Government, Alibaba and the Zhejiang University.
