Deputy Director General of Shanghai Commerce Commission Visits the European Chamber to Discuss the Shanghai Position Paper and Future Cooperation

On 14th April 2021, Zhu Yi, Deputy Director General (DDG) of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce (SCOFCOM) visited the European Chamber Shanghai Chapter to discuss the issues that were brought up in the Shanghai Position Paper and the possible cooperation in the future.

Representatives of the Human Resources, Research and Development (R&D), as well as Finance and Taxation working groups attended the meeting and raised issues affecting the business operation under the current uncertain environment caused by the COVID-19. Topics discussed at the meeting include the current working visa application policy, the living conditions of the government-designated hotel, vaccination, the removal of non-taxable benefits for expats in 2022, the recently reviewed policy on super deduction of R&D expenses, Yangtze River Delta integration, and financing for small and medium-size enterprises. DDG Zhu said the SCOFCOM could facilitate the communication between the Chamber and the competent authorities on these matters. She further proposed to organize policy briefing sessions for the Chamber members.
