Conference with the Centre for International Economic and Technology Cooperation (CIETC) on Carbon Neutrality Policy and Path in China and Europe

The European Chamber co-organised the event “Carbon Neutrality Policy and Path in China and Europe” along with the Centre for International Economic and Technology Cooperation (CIETC) of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) on Monday 26th April at 14:00-17:00 at European Chamber Beijing Office.

According to the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) for national economic and social development and the long-range objectives through the year 2035, China will control the aggregate amount and intensity of energy consumption, reduce the use of fossil energy and advance the low-carbon transition of sectors including industry, construction and transportation.

To help our members better understand China’s plan to achieve its targets, experts from government agencies and think tanks shared their insights and expertise on policy and trends in China in this area. Senior business leaders from European companies also shared their best practice both in the EU and China.

This event is the start of an event series of discussions on general policies and practices in the EU and China, energy transition, emission trading scheme, carbon taxation, green transportation, green supply chain and others.
