On 16th February, the European Chamber Finance and Taxation Working Group held a working group meeting to share insight on the European Union's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and China’s footstep in the carbon-related tax policies.
Paolo Caridi, Policy Coordinator of DG CLIMA of the European Commission, introduced the EU’s CBAM, and Cong Zhang, Partner of Ernst & Young, provided the perspective from China side taking stock of the current tax policies in the country and sharing insight on the relevant framework discussions.
China-Europe H2 Workshop | 2021中欧氢能产业研讨会
On 29th June, the China-Europe H2 Workshop, jointly organised by the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China and China Hydrogen Alliance, was held successfully in Suzhou and online. The workshop was a vital part of NEA’s International Dialogue on Energy Transitions 2021, as well as an annual flagship event of the China-Europe Energy Innovation Cooperation—Hydrogen Work Stream, aiming to build an international platform for technological and industrial exchange, and promote cooperation on hydrogen industry. More than 500 people participated including Chinese and European authorities, international organisations, local government officials and key industry players.

On 15th June, 2020, key representatives from the Auto components Working Group had a con-call with the Secretary General of the Remanufacture Committee of China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CPRA). Some issues of key importance to the remanufacturing industry and Chamber paper content of arguments were discussed. The meeting was a follow up to the advocacy actions the Chamber had with SG Xie back in March after their Yangze River Delta Visits in June.

Upon careful study of the draft and consultation with its members, the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, led by its Legal and Compliance Working Group, has collated all member inputs and submitted suggestions to the MOFCOM for their consideration.
