Meeting with Legislative Affairs Commission of the NPC Standing Committee and SCOFCOM on the Draft Foreign Investment Law
On February 22, 2019, the Legislative Affairs Committee of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce hosted a symposium to solicit opinions on the draft Foreign Investment Law. Representative of the European Chamber's Legal & Competition Working Group attended the symposium and presented members’ feedback and concerns.

GACC representatives from the General Operation Department, Customs Control Department, Enterprise Management Department, Supervision and Internal Auditing Department, and Import and Export Food Safety Bureau also attended the meeting and answered Chamber representatives' questions.

Meeting started with the introduction on the table and a briefing on the Position Paper 2014/2015, as well as the updates of automotive market and auto sector in general to DG ENTR.

On Oct. 13th afternoon, auto components working group members took part in the seminar organized by China Auto Repairing Association and China Auto Technology Association in Shanghai Library. The theme of this seminar is “Reform, Strategy and Development–Set up China Auto Repairing New Situation”. Representatives from the regulating body provided an overall introduction and interpretation of the new policy released jointly by ten ministries. Representatives from AC firms and 4S stores also did different types of presentations to introduce their technology development or current concerns with the market.

On 30th March, a delegation of the European Chamber led by President Joerg Wuttke along with Chairs of the Automotive, Construction Working Groups and a Senior Representative of the Banking & Securities Working group met with a delegation of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the the kingdom of the Netherlands to brief them on current affairs in China and more specifically on the outline of the 12th Five Year Plan.
Meeting with French Minister of European Affairs
On the 5th May 2011, the European Chamber met with the French Minister responsible for European Affairs, Mr. Laurent Wauquiez. The meeting was chaired by President Davide Cucino. The main issues discussed during this meeting were the status and concerns of European business operating in China.
