Roundtable Meeting with Shenzhen Municipal Administration for Market Regulation

30th of June, Market Supervision and Regulation Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality organized a roundtable meeting with the European Chamber's South China Standards and Conformity Assessment (SCA) Working Group, focusing on the few topics such as international market access regulations, certification implementation and supervision relating to the pandemic prevention products, the construction of voluntary certification system in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), and information sharing mechanisms and other issues. The Market Supervision Administration of Shenzhen Municipality Certification and Accreditation, Director Guo, as well as the other representatives from Bureau Veritas, TÜV Rheinland, TÜV SÜD, British Standard Institution (BSI), attended the meeting, introducing their work during COVID-19, and proposed what cooperation could be done with the South China government in the future.

Some future cooperation mentioned during the session: Develop standards for new emerging industries, such as service/pension industry, data security industry, 5G, and new energy industry. Guangzhou and Shenzhen government are willing to establish pilot projects in these areas. Moreover, the Shenzhen government is interested in co-organizing a Shenzhen-Europe Summit and the Chamber members are invited to propose summit topics.

For many certification companies, for example, BSI set up an independent apartment for personal protective equipment (PPE) and increased the volume in certification. A great number of certification access training seminar has been seen in TÜV SÜD, Bureau Veritas and TÜV Rheinland.

Under the pandemic, Market Supervision and Regulation Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality Standards Division established a free public platform for certification information search, said by Xu Junwei, Director. At present, their focus is a clampdown on counterfeit certification. Exporting pandemic prevention products to the European Union has been given a priority, and the bureau also invited many experts in order to supervise the product quality of the enterprise.
