Dinner with Commissioner Karel De Gucht, DG TRADE
On the 21st June, the European Chamber met with Commissioner Karel De Gucht.The Commissioner debriefed the representatives of the European Chamber about the EU-China Joint Committee meeting, the current EU trade policy agenda with China and globally and briefly mentioned the solar panels case. The European Chamber debriefed the Commissioners on its current priorities and current lobby priorities. The meeting ended with the European Chamber making two recommendations regarding the definition of private capital used by Chinese authorities and the need of a database tracking Chinese ODI to Europe.

On 22nd May, the Beijing Chapter, in partnership with the French Chamber, organised a diverse panel of female executives from the worlds of finance, politics, HR and management consulting to discuss an array of topics about women in today’s global workforce. Jaspal Channa, the Beijing Chapter’s General Manager, moderated the panel that included Qingqing Wang, Chief Representative at Societe Generale Insurance, Teresa Woodland, Founding Principal of WuDeLan Partners, Sylvie Bermann, French Ambassador to China, and Muriel de Saint Sauveur, Mazars Group Diversity Director.

The Road to Reform: European Chamber Annual Conference 2013
The Chamber's first annual conference, The Road to Reform, is scheduled for 9th May 2013 at the China World Summit Wing Beijing. This one-day conference is expected to attract more than 300 attendees, including high-level officials from Chinese and EU governments, Chinese and EU executives from a diverse range of industries, as well as prominent domestic and international media.
