Dear Working Group members,
The Finance & Taxation Working Group is pleased to invite you to the meeting “Effective Cash Repatriation from China”, which is taking place on Friday, 5th June, 10:30am-11:30am, both online (via Zoom) and onsite at the European Chamber’s premises (Beijing and Shanghai offices).
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought unprecedented challenges to millions of enterprises worldwide. For Multinational Corporations (MNCs), the global shortfall in cash caused by the spread of the disease constitutes a major financial challenge. With companies in China gradually resuming operations, MNCs’ head offices may seek support from their Mainland subsidiaries to preserve cash liquidity and drive business sustainability. Developing a workable solution to repatriate cash out of China is therefore of vital importance in the current context.
At this meeting, Ricky Xue, Partner at PwC China, China Tax and Business Advisory, will share an overview of the primary tactics for cash repatriation and workable, China-focused solutions from foreign exchange, tax, and commercial perspectives. Specifically, Ricky Xue will discuss traditional as well as novel repatriation methods, combining a technical interpretation of the regulations in place with a practical case-study sharing to guide members through the whole cash repatriation process, from strategy to execution.
Agenda
10:30-10:35 Opening Remarks and Introduction
10:35-11:15 Presentation by Ricky Xue, Partner, China Tax and Business Advisory, PwC China
11:15-11:30 Q&A and Closing Remarks
