The EU SME Centre and the European Chamber are pleased to invite you to our next Working Group Meeting, where Mr. Mark Xu and Mr. Ben Rotheram from China-Britain Business Council, and Mr. Kyle Freeman from Dezan Shira & Associates will give professional insights into the practicalities of operating within China’s non-capital cities and outline the challenges and opportunities for European companies. On June 1st, 2020, the Chinese Central Committee and the State Council jointly released the Overall Plan for the Construction of Hainan Free Trade Port (“the Masterplan”), a large-scale plan to transform the entire island province into a free trade port (FTP) – making it the largest special free trade zone in China. The Masterplan laid out a series of special policies for Hainan – liberalization of trade of goods and services, facilitation of investment, opening-up of key sectors, and free exchange of people, capital, and data. Coupled with preferential policies of the Hainan Bo’ao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone, Hainan is expected to be the rising hub of new investment and business opportunities.
