European Chamber South China Chapter will hold the “Manufacturing Forum Meeting” in the Shenzhen office at 15:00-17:00 p.m., on 27th March (Wed.). On that day, we will elect local Chair and Vice Chair for the forum.
As a key role in driving the group, Chair and Vice Chair will lead to draft the Position Paper 2019/2020 and annual report, and will help to prosper the forum, assisting in inviting new members and holding and promoting activities within. In addition, Chair and Vice Chair also play a role who conveys the voice to outside, communicating targeted messages on behalf of the industry to the senior policy makers in both China and Europe, and raising the visibility of the forum in the media.
Should you have any suitable candidates in your company, we greatly encouraged your recommendation for the election. Attached file is the starter kit for Chairs, from which you could learn more details regarding the role and responsibilities of Chairs and Vice Chairs. Chairs Election Policy:
According to European Chamber internal guidelines, corporate members are eligible for Chair and Vice Chair positions, but representatives from industry associations and individual members are only eligible to hold one of the Forum Vice Chair position. The maximum duration of Chairmanship and Vice Chairmanship is three consecutive terms (3 years), defined as the time period from one Chair election to the next Chair election for each term.
All candidates must provide his/her CV and motivation letter, stating why he/she wishes to elected Chair of Vice Chair, and provide a set of goal for the forum. Since all profiles will be submit to the Board Management one week ahead of the scheduled election, candidates should submit his/her registration, CV and letter to the contact person before March 20th.
Last but not least, candidates shall make a brief speech on the election day as to why they shall be elected, even if there is no opposition to their candidacy. The election of Chair take place first, followed by the election of Vice Chairs.
