There has been an incredible rise in remote work due to COVID-19 which has conversely cause a rise in investments in cyber security by companies that are increasingly worried about cyber risks that the increased use of digital tools entails. However, despite these investments, companies need to adopt an end-to-end Supply Chain strategy.
Companies need to have a holistic view of the supply chain and promote a better integration within it.
Our two experts will be discussing the best strategies companies need to adopt to better tackle the increasing challenges posed by cyber risks in the supply chain.
Dr. Daniel Pellathy is Assistant Professor of Management (Supply Chain and Operations Management) at Grand Valley State University in Michigan, U.S.A. He is one of the authors of a recent paper published on April 2020 titled “Managing Cyber Risks in Global Supply Chains: The Four Fundamentals” by the Global Supply Chain Institute of the University of Tennessee.
Mr. Vincent Guo is Senior Manager at EY focusing on Cybersecurity, field in which he has an extensive knowledge. Vincent has advised many clients on issues related to cyber risk and compliance in the supply chain, including TPRM, IT Resilience, etc.

Mr. Daniel Pellathy

Mr. Daniel Pellathy
Daniel Pellathy is assistant professor of management at Grand Valley State University. Pellathy holds a PhD in Supply Chain Management from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, an MBA/MPIA with a focus on international economics from the University of Pittsburgh, and a BA in philosophy and anthropology from Cornell University.
Pellathy's professional background includes enterprise risk management and he continues to actively consult with companies across a broad range of issues related to strategic supply chain planning, organizational alignment, supply chain risk, and end-to-end operational excellence.
Pellathy's research interests include supply chain strategy, supply chain integration, and organizational design, with special attention on creating sustainable business success. His research has been published in academic journals including Journal of Business Logistics, Journal of Supply Chain Management, and International Journal of Physical Distribution & Logistics Management. He is also co-author of numerous white papers on forward thinking topics in supply chain management. This work has been featured in practitioner outlets including Supply Chain Management Review and the Wall Street Journal.

Mr. Vincent Guo
Vincent is a senior manager of the EY China Cybersecurity division, who has over 15 years of experience in the field.
Vincent has been proactively participating in the EY Cyber Security Law (CSL) service development activities since early 2017 include hosting CSL seminars, conducting CSL workshops for clients’ senior executives, and delivering key note speeches at major CSL events
Vincent has been leading a team of dedicated EY CSL professionals successfully completing a number of sizable CSL compliance projects for large Multi-National Corporations (MNCs) operating in China from various industries including smart manufacturing, retail, automotive, pharma and so on
He has successfully assisted clients to fully understand the CSL requirements, identify the gaps between their current cyber practices against local cyber compliance requirements, construct actionable recommendations, and formulate sustainable CSL strategy & operational models
Vincent has managed and delivered sizable data protection projects, which involved building of enterprise confidential data inventory across departments, establishing data classification policies, process & procedures, planning and selecting data protection tools, promoting data protection best practices and monitoring data protection performance
