President of the European Chamber's Visit to Chengdu On 23rd and 24th May Mr. Joerg Wuttke, the President of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, was in Chengdu to show his support for the “We Are a Chinese Company, Too” campaign. During his visit Mr. Wuttke met with Mr. Huang Xiaoxiang, Vice Governor of Sichuan Province, and Mr. Ge Honglin, Mayor of Chengdu City, participated in the Monthly Dinner and attended the Atexis Open House Day. In the meeting Mr. Huang and Mr. Ge conveyed the good relationship Sichuan and Chengdu have with Europe and demonstrated how the European Chamber can effectively bridge European companies with those from Sichuan and Chengdu, as well as provide a platform for them to meet one another. Mr. Ge also expressed the hope that the European Chamber could strengthen communication and cooperation with Chengdu, helping Chengdu attract more investment from European enterprises through the high-class service it provides.   In response to this, Mr. Wuttke as President of European Chamber stated he really hopes that European enterprises not only focus on big cities, like Beijing and Shanghai, but also pay more attention to regional central cities such as Chengdu to explore more cooperation opportunities. Mr. Wuttke assured that the European Chamber will endeavor on this cause. During this visit Mr. Wuttke participated in the Monthly Dinner held especially for established and potential Chengdu Members, listening to their suggestions and exchanging views on business issues and the direction of the European Chamber. Mr. Wuttke also attended the Open House Day at Atexis (Chengdu) Company Electron Co. Ltd., that showed visitors and government representatives that European SMEs with their advanced technologies, management experience, marketing concepts and recruitment strategies do not only provide a valuable resource for local companies to improve their international competitiveness, but also make great contributions to the local economy and society.
