Shanghai slated as global financial center
Shanghai will be built into a major international financial center and shipping hub by 2020, the State Council said on March 25, an indication of China's intention to place greater reliance on the city as it refines its strategy for battling the global economic downturn.
China to raise tax rebates on textile, metal exports
China will raise the tax rebate rate on some textile, iron and steel, nonferrous metal, petrochemical, electronic information and light industrial exports starting April 1. The decision was made at an executive meeting of the State Council, the country's Cabinet, on March 25.
