To strengthen the European Chamber’s Government Affairs team, we offer an internship position at the Chamber’s Beijing office. We offer regular training, an international working environment and an insight into the working style of multinational companies.
The current intern position will support business managers in the working groups of Food for Special Medical Purpose Advisory Committee and Paediatric Nutrition Desk and Cheese Desk.
Job description
- Assist with the drafting of the annual Position Paper;
- Conduct regulatory and market research;
- Assist with the setting up and conducting of working group meetings, including managing invitations, registrations, meeting minutes and other logistical work;
- Assist with the liaison between working group members and/or government authorities;
- Collect and collate member comments on legislation drafts in response to calls for comments;
- Track lobby activities;
- Help with English-Chinese translation and occasional oral interpretation;
- Other works designated by business managers.
*The internship presents an opportunity to gain valuable experience within the areas that the Chamber is involved in, including lobbying, events and organizing working group meetings with European industry.
Skills & experience
- University student, bachelor of third year or above. Graduate student is preferred;
- Excellent command of spoken and written English and Mandarin;
- Good communication skills;
- Self-motivated, independent working style;
- Industry knowledge, strong personal interest and/or previous experience in trade policy lobbying are a key asset;
- Students majoring in Law, Economics, Political Sciences or Language Studies are strongly encouraged to apply for this position.
