Job description
Job Purpose
- Overall responsibility for Record to Report (R2R), Purchase to Pay (P2P) and Order to Cash (O2C) transactional processes
- Close accounts/books for local GAAP, all statutory and internal management reporting requirements
- Fixed asset management, control, insurance
- Work closely with Business Controllership team to have robust financial controls in place
- Work closely with the FP&A and Treasury teams on collection and payment forecasts; cash flow management
- Work proactively with Group Tax to support tax compliance and reduce effective tax rate
Principal Accountabilities and Key Activities:
Financial Reporting (R2R)
- Partner with Group Accounting and Cluster FP&A function for joint ownership, responsibility and inputs to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting / R2R deliverables (e.g., internal GL reporting, external statutory requirements, month-end close, etc.)
- Implement strict discipline to adhere to MEC calendar and closure of modules in SAP
- Implement strict discipline to adhere to MEC calendar, closure of modules in SAP and timely delivery of year end audit requirements
- Responsible for ensuring that accounting and reporting is in line with Group accounting policies and accounting standards. Lead consultation with Group Accounting on key judgements and technical accounting matters
- Ensure Balance Sheet reconciliations are completed and submitted per group timelines
Purchase to Pay (P2P)
- Ensure vendor invoices are booked on timely basis (GR/IR, open PO review, etc.) and paymentseffected within the agreed payment dates
- Review monthly payment forecasts, communicate to Group Treasury and ensure funds are maintained to effect payments on time
- Together with Cluster FP&A review monthly fixed assets cash flow management
- Review vendor accounts periodically to maintain updated and correct balances at any given point in time
- Work closely with procurement team to have correct and updated master data
- Track and deliver monthly committed DPO
- Working closely with the procurement team, ensure procurement policy is strictly adhered to
Order to Cash (O2C)
- Review collection targets at the beginning of the month, monitor and deliver committed DSO
- Ensure customer accounts are updated at any given point in time
- Comply with polices issued by the group relating to the O2C process
- Ensure complete usage of SAP and avoid manual touch points to the extent possible (e.g. periodical customer statements, dunning statements)
Risk Management
- Own Finance-specific risks and associated activities
- Support Group Controllership function on risk-related requirements, including:
- Enhancement and compliance of Finance processes, standards and systems in alignment with Group Controllership framework
- Ensure Fixed Assets recording and reporting and work closely with the Group Head of Insurance to ensure assets are adequately and timely insured
- Implement Group Tax & Treasury recommendations to ensure the most efficient use of the company’s cash resources in a tax efficient manner through the implementation of appropriate short and medium term cash forecasting, dividend repatriation forecasting and appropriate use of available treasury instruments
- Work closely with Expert Functions (Tax, Treasury, Controllership) to support EF priorities… e.g., TP audits, deliver data needed for 3rd parties on Tax-related matters, information requests, hedging etc.
People Leadership
- Ensure the effective preparation and implementation of development and succession plans for Finance personnel
- Support the development of the engagement of the employees
- Training for the team (including SAP)
Skills & experience
Requirements:
- Undergraduate University degree in Finance or Accounting, Economics or related area
- Knowledge of IFRS and global accounting rules
- Minimum 8 years professional experience in finance function
- English and Chinese proficiency
- Strong leadership history and ability to drive transformational change
- Analytical, logical thinking skills
- Emotional intelligence
