Meeting with Swiss Delegation on Current Trade Concerns

The following issues were touched upon during the exchange:

Medical devices: classification, testing for placing products on the market, clinical trials, technical regulations referring to outdated standards, and animal testing.
Accreditation and certification: ongoing reform of China’s compulsory certification regime (CCC), opportunities for foreign conformity assessment bodies, recognition of test results, and EU-China Regulatory Dialogue.
Pharmaceuticals: long registration procedures, local clinical trials, re-testing, and alignment of Chinese regulations with international guidelines and recommendations.
Cosmetics: animal testing, new ingredients, and new labelling requirements.
Food safety: implications of the new food safety law on registration of foreign producers, and Chinese requirements and procedures foreign producers face when trying to access Chinese market.

During the meeting, both parties agreed to enhance cooperation in relevant fields in the future.
