Vice President of European Chamber Presents Position Paper to Deputy Director General of Shanghai Commerce Commission

In this meeting, Mr. Stefan Sack, Vice President of European Chamber presented the latest Position Paper to Mr. Gu Jun, Deputy Director General of Shanghai Commerce Commission. While acknowledging the progress that the Chinese government has made in reforms, Mr. Sack also shared the Chamber's stance on some areas that has not fulfilled the promises made at the 3rd Plenum of the 18th Party Congress. Mr. Gu appreciated the Chamber's Position Paper and was keen to learn foreign investor's opinions on reform measures that can be piloted during the next stage of the Shanghai FTZ. At the end of the meeting, both sides agreed that an open dialogue mechanism between the Chamber and the government to ensure effective communication is critical for policy-making. Mr. Gu proposed SCOFCOM hold regualr and spontaneous issue-based sessions with European Chamber member companies to learn their needs and demands. Mr. Sack welcomed Mr. Gu's suggestions and promised to provide full support.
