Joint Meeting with Beijing Municipal Government

The meeting was organized by Invest Beijing. Besides the European Chamber, AmCham, Japanese Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce and Beijing FIE Association were also invited to the meeting. Ms. Marchetta, on behalf of the Chamber, delivered a speech on the recommendations on the opening up of health care services, science and technology and innovation services in Beijing.

Representatives of the Environment Protection Bureau, Traffic Management Bureau, Exit and Entry Administration Bureau of Beijing, Foreign Exchange Administration Division and Financial Bureau of Beijing Municipal Government briefed on what they have done to facilitate the opening up and improving the foreign investment environment in Beijing. Vice Mayor, Ms. Cheng Hong expressed her appreciation to all FIEs for their contribution to the development of Beijing. She talked about the achievement Beijing has made during the 12^th Five-Year Plan, the drafting of the 13^th Five-Year Plan for Beijing, the significance of and effort made in the expansion pilots of opening up service sectors in Beijing. She highlighted that the local government values the input and comments from foreign chambers and FIEs regarding the opening-up of six service areas. She also encouraged and welcomed more contributions from foreign businesses.
