Meeting with Chairman of Shanghai Commercial Mediation Center on Future Cooperation

Ms. Zhang Wei, Chairman of Shanghai Commercial Mediation Center (SCMC) paid a visit to the European Chamber Shanghai Office. She firstly introduced the basic information about SCMC and the recent development since its foundation 5 years ago. Having compared mediation with arbitration and litigation, Ms. Zhang explained the purpose of this visit is to seek cooperation with the European Chamber to let more companies know about mediation and SCMC. As an alternative way to resolve commercial disputes, mediation enjoys the advantage of better efficiency and confidientiality. Dr. Ioana Kraft thanked Ms. Zhang for the visit and introduction. She proposed the possibility of cooperation with the two organizations, especially with the Legal and IPR Working Groups in the European Chamber.
