  • ŸJörg Wuttke emphasized that the consumption per capita in China is decreasing and 2016 will be crucial to implementing the One Belt One Road (OBOR) plan.
  • Mats Harborn pointed out that it is necessary to expand market access by modern travelling and to establish an umbrella of people and goods transfer as mentioned by Asian and Europe Meeting (ASEM).
  • Davide Cucino mentioned ‘Made in China 2025’, which covers issues such as the ownership of patents  and the competition between MNCs and  Chinese companies regarding  market access in China.
  • Serafino Bartolozzi mentioned the overcapacity problem in the automotive industry in 2015. Moreover Chinese OEM blocked access of the MNCs to the independent aftermarket. Counterfeit issues and weak enforcement of IPR protection law worsened the situation. 
  • Yijing Zhang predicted that during the 13 FYP period there would be no big changes in China’s automotive market because the key components suppliers would still be MNCs. But under Joint Adventure, the Chinese players can choose which counterparts they cooperate with under a special NDRC approval. 
  • Henrik Hololei mentioned the complexity of the legal and policy-making system in China. Additionally, he pointed out some challenges to the logistic industry posed by Internet plus, merges of SOEs and the pollution problem.
