Policy Meeting-13th Five-Year-Plan

Maggie Xie, the General Manager of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China briefly explained the importance of the 13th Five-Year-Plan (FYP) and then introduced the two speakers, Mr. Tom Rafferty from The Economist Intelligence Unit and Mr. Bruce Fu from APCO Worldwide.

Mr. Tom Rafferty presented the takeaways and outlook on China’s “two
sessions” & the five-year plan. His presentation included 1). Takeaways
from the “two sessions”, 2). The five-year plan, 3). Favoured sectors and
regions and the 4). Medium-term outlook.

Mr.
Bruce Fu gave a presentation on China’s 13th Five Year Plan. He started
by explaining in detail the background, the key features, the policy-making
process, and the main goals of the FYP. Then, he introduced the ten themes of
the 13th FYP respectively. After that, he made some predictions on
the results and analyzed the implications of the 13th FYP for
European companies.
