Meeting with Shanghai CPPCC on Shanghai's Business Environment

In the meeting, European Chamber Shanghai General Manager as well as Chairs of Investment Working Group, Construction Working Group and HR Working Group shared their opinions and suggestions on Shanghai's business environment. The discussion focused on how to attract and retain foreign investors. Issues that may hurdle foreign investment decisions were reflected, including high tax rate, high operating cost,  restrictions on talent movement, difficult capital flow and RMB convertibility, complicated requirements on business set-up, instable and unpredictable legal environment and restrictions on foreign law firms, unstable Internet environment, etc. After the discussion, both sides agreed to maintain the bilateral dialogue mechanism and looked forward to more in-depth and technical discussion.
