To mark the first three-year anniversary of launch of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, Pudong district government organized a seminar on CSPFTZ development specifically for FIEs and Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai. At the meeting, Mick Adams, Vice President of the European Chamber, delivered a speech and shared FTZ related information from the Chamber's Business Confidence Survey 2016. While the Shanghai FTZ has made great progress in the areas of trade facilitation, government administration and financial reform, it still has great potential that could yet be realized. Mr. Adams recommends the FTZ authorities to make bolder reform of and more liberalisation in the financial sector, enhance IP protection in order for the European companies to bring more cutting-edge technologies to the city, and remove restrictions on intern visa to attract more young talent from overseas to create a more innovative R&D environment.
