Meeting with MIIT SME Bureau

The meeting was conducted in a friendly atmosphere. The European side firstly gave a brief introduction of European Union Chamber of Commerce and EU SME Centre. Then the Division Director of SME Bureau, MIIT, Ms. Lian Li appreciated the visit and she highly recognised the work delivered by the European Chamber and EU SME Centre.
The European Chamber presented the four policy recommendations included in the 2016-2017 inter-chamber SME working group position paper. MIIT SME Bureau provided the copy of 13th Five-year-plan, SME Development Guidelines. Both sides explained in detail the difficulties of SME development in China and in Europe, and MIIT welcome a bilateral dialogue to improve SME business environment.
Ms. Lian Li mentioned the upcoming 7th EU-China SME Policy Dialogue which will take place in Brussels on the 12th September. She will report to MIIT delegation and she hopes the four key recommendations will be included in the discussion. Also in 2016, The State Council of PRC will establish a SME development working group based in MIIT, Ms. Lian Li invites the European Chamber and EU SME Centre to participate in future policy discussions and seminars.
During the meeting, MIIT expressed strong willingness to collaborate with the European Chamber and the EU SME Centre, enhance mutual understanding and improve SME business climate, open up SME access to finance, simplify administrative works, set up training programs and promote SME collaboration demonstration areas.
European Chamber presented the 2016-2017 Position Paper and recent activities of SME working group.
Both European Chamber and MIIT are looking forward to future events and policy dialogues.
