European Chamber Shanghai Vice Chair Presenting on 15th Anniversary Celebrating Seminar of China's WTO Accession

2016-11-09 | Shanghai

In the presentation, Mr. Wassmuth reviewed the achievements that China had accomplished since the WTO accession. The European Chamber particularly welcomes important measures taken by Chinese government to facilitate international trade such as FTZ reform, single window scheme and nationwide integration of customs clearance.

The world economy is under structural change and traditional trading model is being challenged. The European Chamber upholds the WTO principles that call for an open and inclusive international trade. To ensure the implementation of WTO principles, the European Chamber advocates for a greater market access in China for foreign business and looks forward to more reciprocity in European companies' investment in China vis-a-vis Chinese companies' investment in Europe.
