MOFCOM’s Annual Meeting with Foreign Enterprises Representatives

MOFCOM held a high-level meeting with foreign enterprises representatives on Nov 25th.  European Chamber was invited to attend the meeting.  Chaired by Mr. Wang Shouwen, the Vice Commissioner of MOFCOM,  this meeting focused on collecting the feedback from two major industries (Automotive and ICT) regarding how China’s policy environment affects foreign business operating in China during the year 2016.  Diana Yao, the Vice President of Governmental Affairs at BMW China, was invited to share her comments on business climate surrounding automotive sector in China.  Diana highlighted three major challenges facing the auto sector including inadequate lead time for companies to prepare for policy changes, inflexibility of technical requirement for companies to innovate, and security concerns over digitalization development. Relevant ministry representatives including MOFCOM, MIIT, MEP, GAC and NDRC responded to concerns raised by industry representatives at the end of the meeting.
