Meeting with President Li Wei of the SCDRC

President Wuttke leading the Chamber delegation met with President Li Wei of the SCDRC on 30 November, 2016. At the meeting, President Wuttke conveyed the key messages in the Position Paper 2016/2017 and talked about other publications of the Chamber, including local PPs and Over-capacity Report. He then talked about reciprocity in EU-China trade and investment and China Manufacturing 2025. Mr. Jochem Heizmann made some points on the new energy vehicles in China. President Li commented on the bilateral trade and investment. He said that China will remain opening up to the outside world and there is still much room for future development of EU-China trade and investment. In response to the concerns from Mr. Heizmann, President Li said that the SCDRC will relay these concerns to the NDRC and MIIT, competent departments in a better position to address these issues. Both sides believe that the conclusion of the CAI will boost the bilateral trade between China and the EU.
