Shanghai Customs Briefing on Nationwide Integration of Customs Clearance

In the seminar, Mr. Sun Junwei introduced the background of the ongoing reform of nationwide integration of customs clearance. As part of the GAC's deepening reform agenda, the nationwide integration of customs clearance will fundamentally change the current administrative structure and customs clearance procedures. With the establishment of two centers (Risk Control Center and Duty Collection Center), the new customs clearance procedures will be simplified and the responsibilities will be clearly defined. As a result, the clearance efficiency and the consistency of law enforcement across all customs houses will be improved.

Mr. Sun also stressed that the new mechanism will grant companies with more freedom in the process of declaration, but also have higher requirements on companies' initiative, credit and cooperation on post-clearance audit. 

Shanghai Customs is open to all feedbacks as the new mechanism comes into effect.
