General Manager of European Chamber Shanghai Chapter Speaks at 2016 International Think Tank Summit

In the 2016 International Think Tank Summit organized by Shanghai Municipal Government Development Research Center, Dr. Kraft shared four recommendations of the European business in Shanghai on facilitating trade and investment. Firstly, Shanghai needs to work closely with the Central Government in terms of deepening the reform of FIE administrative regime, particularly the Negative List mechanism, to maintain attractiveness for foreign investors. Secondly, Shanghai should strive for a healthier and more open financial market to support the trade and investment activities. Thirdly, in order to further strengthen the position as a leading hub for international shipping and trade, Shanghai needs to improve the inter- and inner-departmental coordination. Last but not least, Shanghai should create a friendlier and more open environment for talent attraction and retention by establishing less restrictive visa and hukou policies and improving the internet access.
