Meeting and Event with Deputy Governor of PBoC and Administrator of SAFE

The European Chamber hosted its financial services conference, titled Balancing Control and Liberalisation, with European Chamber President Mats Harborn hosting the event. His Excellency Hans-Dietmar Schweisgut, Ambassador of the European Union to China and Mongolia, delivered welcome remarks, before Mr Pan Gongsheng, Deputy Governor of the People’s Bank of China (PBoC) and Administrator of China’s State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE), delivered his keynote speech themed Cross-Border Capital Flows: Challenges and Responses. In the short Q&A session that followed, Mr Pan responded to Chamber members’ questions. Prior to the event he had joined Ambassador Schweisgut and President Harborn in a meeting with members of the Chamber’s Advisory Council. This engagement represents a further deepening of the highly constructive, ongoing dialogue that has taken place between the European Chamber and the SAFE throughout 2017.
