Comments on Building an Effective and Efficient Customs System

Invited by GAC Office of Reform and Department of Science and Technology, European chamber Logistics Working Group submitted consolidated comments to GAC regarding their recommendations on building up a new generation of information systems.  In the comments, the working group members acknowledged GAC’s efforts in improving custom clearance efficiency through creating a smart information system and pointed out the problems they encountered in the existing practices, which include the lack of coordination among different local customs, inadequate channel for enterprises to communicate with customs officials and inefficiency caused by repetitive administrative procedures.
