General Manager of European Chamber Shanghai Chapter Speaks at 2017 International Think Tank Summit

In the 2017 International Think Tank Summit, Dr. Kraft shared with the audience European business' expectation on Shanghai's role in the national Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). As a hub city in the BRI, Shanghai is expected to further open up and pilot bolder reform in market access for foreign investment, particularly in financial sector. European business also looks forward to Shanghai's Free Port initiative and hopes it could further facilitate international trade. Finally, it is also important for Shanghai to improve "soft environment" and promote freer mobility of people and information. 

International Think Tank Summit is an annual conference organized by the Shanghai Municipal Government Development Research Center. It is a platform for 18 core think tank organizations including internationally renowned consulting firms, chambers of commerce and MNCs to provide recommendations to Shanghai Municipal Government regarding the city's future development and reform.
