Meeting with President Hu Zhijian of Chinese Academy of Science and Technology for Development of MOST on Innovation and Sustainable Development of Xiong An New Area

Followed by the general introduction on the Chamber, relevant Working Groups and publications made by Mr Michael Chang, Chamber Vice President, Dr Hu Zhijian, President of Chinese Academy of Science and Technology for Development (CASTED), Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) updated the planning schemes of Xiong An New Area, along with the brief introduction on the CASTED and would like to cooperate with the Chamber on research and innovation. The VIP closed-door seminar was concluded with Mr Michael Chang presenting the European Chamber Position Paper 2017/2018 to Dr Hu.

The exclusive dialogue was opened by Mr Michael Chang with warm welcome to Dr Hu and Mr Wang Shuhua, Director of Institute of Rural and Regional Development, CASTED, and the Chamber’s prospects on the Xiong An New Area. Subsequently Dr Hu made a presentation on the innovation and sustainable development for Xiong An New Area.

During the panel discussion, Mr Feng Cheng, China Strategy Director of ARM, Mr Hung Xiaojun, National Chair of Chamber Environment Working Group and Mr Che Wei, Vice President of Danfoss China provided their recommendations and shared relevant experience for the establishment of Xiong An New Area from the perspective of information and communication technology, environment, construction, energy and low-carbon industry respectively. The exclusive dialogue was concluded with the Q&A session for the audience.
