Meeting on the Horizon 2020 Work Programme 2018-2020

On 29th November 2017, the European Chamber had the pleasure to welcome Dr. Laurent Bochereau, Head of Science, Technology and Environment Section, EU Delegation to China to our joint Working Group meeting on Horizon 2020. Dr. Bochereau presented the recently released Horizon 2020 Work Programme 2018-2020 and share his insights on cooperation opportunities for industries, followed by a Q&A session with the members.

Horizon 2020 is the largest multinational programme dedicated to research & innovation which focused on excellent science, industrial leadership and societal challenges. The Work Programme 2018-2020 represent a major investment of €30 billion and offer great opportunities to industries to partner with the wider scientific community and innovators in areas of mutual interest. 

During the meeting, Mr. Keving Gao, Working Group Coordinator of the European Chamber also gave a brief introduction on the URBAN-EU-CHINA Innovation Platform on Sustainable Urbanisation (Horizon 2020 Initiative). Being one of the consortium partners, the European Chamber supported this initiative in its aims to facilitating the discussion, collaboration and cooperation on sustainable urbanisation between EU and China.

A Q&A session was followed with a number of questions relating to IP ownership, co-funding mechanism, and R&D framework programme related to the Belt and Road Initiative.
