Meeting with Shanghai Customs on 2017/2018 Position Paper

Mr Gao Rongkun, Director General of Shanghai Customs welcomed the European Chamber delegation and appreciated the well-established relationship between the European Chamber and Shanghai Customs. He briefly introduced Shanghai Customs and its pioneer role in China's customs reform and national strategies.

Mr Carlo D'Andrea, Chairman of the European Chamber Shanghai Chapter, introduced the executive summary of the 2017/2018 Position Paper and looked forward to the fulfillment of further opening up and equal treatment to FIEs as promised by the Chinese Government.

Following a brief introduction of the Logistics Working Group and the International Liner Shipping Sub-working Group, Ms Cindy Rong and Ms Vivian Hu presents the key recommendations in the Position Papers respectively, such as implementation of Trade Facilitation Agreement, smart customs, AEO administration, voluntary disclosure, manifest administration, etc. 

Mr Gao appreciates the European Chamber's dedication in studying the customs issues and offering the pertinent and helpful recommendations. He proposed to further cooperate with European Chamber companies to explore innovative ways in customs supervision and bring more benefits to companies with high credit.
