Meeting with Vice Chairman Zhaoxing Wang, CBRC

President of the Chamber led a delegation and met with Vice Chairman Wang Zhaoxing of the China Banking Regulatory Commission, CBRC.

President Harborn and Vice Chairman Wang exchanged views on the latest development in the EU including its economic recovery, tightened financial regulations and social restructuring. He commented on China’s further opening up, especially in the financial sector and the importance of fair competition and global cooperation. Representatives from Banking and Securities Working Group, Consumer Finance & NBFI Working Group and AC members in the banking sector voiced their concerns and recommendations of their industry. Vice Chairman Wang welcomed the delegation from the Chamber and responded to the comments made by the industry representatives. He said that foreign banks and financial institutions are welcomed in China. They will be encouraged to engage RMB and local businesses, to provide diversified service to Chinese companies and consumers. The meeting was concluded with the Position Paper 2017/2018 presentation to Vice Chairman Wang by the President of the Chamber.
