European Chamber Speaks at the Shanghai Pujiang Intellectual Property International Forum

On 21st April, the Shanghai Pujiang Intellectual Property International Forum was held during the 6th China (Shanghai) International Technology Fair 2018. Experts and scholars from the field of intellectual property at home and abroad have been brought together to exchange ideas under the theme of strengthening intellectual property creation, protection and utilization, and promoting the One Belt One Road Initiative.

The Chamber’s National Chair of the Intellectual Property Rights Working Group, Mr Elliot Papageorgiou attended the Forum and gave a presentation on IP Creation, Protection and Utilization in light of Made in China 2025 & One Belt One Road. He stressed that China’s initiatives such as the Made in China 2025 and the One Belt One Roadprovide both challenges and opportunities for European businesses. While the European businesses are aligning themselves with China’s goals, strengthening the cooperation between China and the EU on the basis of reciprocity will be key to achieving the long-term prosperity and economic growth.
