Chamber Presents on Local Business Environment to Jiangsu Department of Commerce

On 23rd August, Bernhard Weber, chair of European Chamber’s Nanjing Board, You Haiyan, general manager of the Chamber’s Nanjing Chapter, and member company representatives paid a visit to the Jiangsu Department of Commerce and met with Sun Jin, deputy director general of the Jiangsu Department of Commerce.
Mr Weber and Mr Sun discussed the Chamber’s recent publications along with the local implementation of State Council Document No. 5 and State Council Document No. 49. Mr Weber went on to discuss the findings in the Chamber’s Business Confidence Survey 2018 and emphasised European businesses’ concerns over the protection of IPR.
Mr Sun highly valued the two reports as the essential references for the future work. He addressed the importance of business environment and innovative ecosystem. Department of Commerce recognized the challenge that the SMEs faced and will take action to bring more opportunities to SMEs. Jiangsu has always seen Europe as one of the most important partners and will work continually on the promotion of the two-way investment by providing young talents, huge market and mature supply chain.
Mr Wang Weiguo, the vice president of Siemens China, joined the meeting and shared his concern on cyber security laws with Mr Sun.
Mr Weber presented the two reports to Mr Sun during the meeting.
