Seminar with China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR)

On 20th September, a European Chamber delegation, led by Ms Jessica Yuan, deputy head of government affairs, participated in a seminar with China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR).

European Chamber member representatives, along with representatives from other chambers of commerce in China, spoke of their concerns regarding China’s business environment, fair competition, and operational challenges. The most frequently mentioned topics included professional whistle blowers, intellectual property protection, government procurement, and trade facilitation measures.

Ms Yuan highlighted on behalf of the European Chamber government procurement issues and the need to establish a regular communication mechanism with enterprises. Mr Ting Yang, director, CCPIT, concluded the seminar by saying the enterprises’ concerns would be delivered to the relevant government departments. He further added that CCPIT has had a successful track record of helping foreign-invested enterprises solve problems.
