On 15th October 2019, the European Chamber's Construction, Energy, Environment and Petrochemicals, Chemicals and Refining working groups submitted comments to the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development on Code for Building Fire Protection, one of the standards released as part of 40 National Standards for Housing and Urban-Rural Engineering Projects,

Among more detailed comments, the working groups raised concern that the draft code relies too much on prescriptive articles rather than an outcome-based approach. They also suggested that a product's fire response test should test the finished product, rather than testing its constituent materials.
