Meeting with Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce Director General Yuan HUA

On 10th June, Carlo D'Andrea, Vice President and Chairman of the European Chamber Shanghai, and Dr. Ioana Kraft, General Manager of the European Chamber Shanghai met with the Director-General Yuan HUA of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce (SCOFCOM). Mr. D'Andrea appreciated SCOFCOM's effort in helping the Chamber setting up meetings with the relevant government stakeholders during the time of crisis and presented national and local issues such as the access to funding from the SMEs and the SOE dominance from the Chamber's newly published 2020 Business Confidence Survey (BCS). Other issues such as the travel ban and lack of foreign teachers for international schools were also raised during the meeting.

Mr. D'Andrea emphasised the importance of keeping a transparent and consistent dialogue with the SCOFCOM and DG Hua, in return, agreed to a continuous dialogue with the chamber.
