Meeting with Deputy Director General of Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce on Establishing A High-level Communication Mechanism

On 4th November, Mr. Wang Jian, Deputy Director General (DDG) of Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce, visited the European Chamber Shanghai Chapter and met with Mr. Carlo D'Andrea, Vice President and Chair of the Shanghai Chapter of the Chamber.

During the meeting, Mr. D'Andrea emphasised the importance of the Zhejiang province to European Chamber members in terms of business cooperation and expansion. As one of the richest region in China, Zhejiang is pioneering in many sectors such as Fintech, artificial intelligence, digital economy, etc. European business is eager to learn the latest development of these sectors and explore potential business partnership with local enterprises. Therefore, Mr. D'Andrea proposed to establish a high-level communication mechanism between the European Chamber and the Zhejiang provincial government in order to keep the European business timely informed of industry development and potential business opportunities. Mr. D'Andrea also shared the one of the key recommendations from the Shanghai Position Paper 2020/2021, which focuses on the Yangtze River Delta integration. With the successful regional integration, the region will become more prosperous and receive more foreign investments.

At the end of the meeting, Mr. D'Andrea presented the Shanghai Position Paper 2020/2021 to DDG Wang.
