Meeting with Hubei Vice Governor on Future Cooperation

On 6th November, Mr. Carlo D'Andrea, Vice President and Chair of the Shanghai Chapter of the European Chamber, had a private meeting with Mr. Zhao Haishan, Vice Governor of Hubei Provincial People's Government. 

During the meeting, Vice Governor Zhao reflected on the 73-days lockdown of the Hubei province during the beginning of the pandemic. As it is back to normal now, the Hubei province has launched a three-year development plan which involves RMB 3.4 trillion to boost the local economy. Mr. D'Andrea appreciated the efforts the Hubei provincial government has made in pandemic control which provided valuable experience to the world. He further said the European business is eager to participate in the three-year development plan which would bring mutual benefit to both sides.

At the end of the meeting, Mr. D'Andrea proposed to organize a European Chamber business delegation to visit Hubei to explore potential business opportunities in the near future. The proposal was warmly welcomed by the Vice Governor.
