Meeting with Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration DDG Yang Hui

On 26th November, European Chamber Shanghai Chapter General Manager Dr Ioana Kraft visited the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration (SIPA) together with IPR working group chair Filippo Sticonni and vice chair Reinout van Malenstein. They were greeted by the SIPA Deputy Director General Yang Hui and his colleagues. Dr Kraft introduced the Shanghai Position Paper. And the two chairs introduced the IPR working group Position Paper 2020/2021, as well as specific issues such as difficulty in obtaining legal document from abroad during COVID outbreak. 

DDG Yang introduced the work of the SIPA is the past year, including establishing a across-departmental joint committee on IP and strengthing enforcement on IP infringement together with the Administration of Market Regulation. He said he will look into the specific issues and liase internally with different government bodies. 

By the end of the meeting, Dr Kraft gifted the Position Paper 2020/2021 to Mr Yang and the two sides shook hands and aggreed on continued dialogues and future joint activities in the next year.
