European Chamber Speaks at CPPCC Shanghai Annual Briefing on Shanghai's Business Environment Under the COVID-19

On 18th November, Dr. Ioana Kraft, General Manager of the European Chamber Shanghai Chapter, spoke at the annual briefing of the CPPCC Shanghai Branch.

In her speech, Dr. Kraft recognizes the Shanghai Government's efforts in preventing and controlling the pandemic. However, the longstanding issues such as market access barriers and unfair level playing field against foreign companies remain the biggest challenges for the city to further develop itself. The uncertainty of the pandemic, as well as the travel restrictions, have threatened Shanghai's status as China's most international city and portal to the world. Therefore, Shanghai's internationalisation is on standby. Dr. Kraft also shared the key findings of the European Chamber's Business Confidence Survey, as well as the recommendations from the Shanghai Position Paper.
